This iconic stained pine table from Axel Einar Hjorth’s extremely rare Sportstugemöbler (or weekend house furniture) collection for Nordiska Kompaniet is a prime example of simple lines and humble materials that transcend time and space. The piece was intended for Swedish summer homes and was named after Stockholm's archipelago island Lovö. It espouses different influences including the linear compositions of French Art Deco and the rustic charms of Arts & Crafts. A century after first being designed, the “Lovö” table is more coveted than ever. It has been refinished in Los Angeles to excellent condition.
