The Odin Table Lamp is made out of ceramic and features soft curves and wave-like detailing. Drawn to the purity and simplicity of the raw materiality of clay, Danny Kaplan sought out to create an elegant form that felt ancient like a relic dug up from the ocean. The Odin Table Lamp is wheel-thrown in two parts and then assembled. The detailing along the top is produced post assembly—each ornamental wave molded from small coils of clay that are all purposefully imperfect. With each made-to-order Odin Lamp, there’s less emphasis on creating facsimiles and more attention on embracing the differences in each one that is made.
