Designed in collaboration with Danish contemporary artist Carsten Beck Nielsen, the Untitled 1 Rug consists of a work of art that's been carefully selected and translated into a rug. The artist 'paints' geometric shapes with a shaggy hand-knotted wool pile on a flat-woven wool canvas. For this second edition of Art on Rugs the angular shapes are inspired by different geometric and mathematical forms. Each rug is handmade by artisan weavers using high-quality New Zealand wool with a shaggy pile that's ultra-soft and durable. "It’s a different way of experiencing art in a home," says the artist. "It's fascinating to see how different an artwork is experienced when it’s on the floor rather than on the wall." The Untitled 1 Rug is handmade in small batches in Bhadohi, India. Only a few in each size are available.
