What piece do you think anchors this space?
The custom bed, upholstered in a graphic and textured woven stripe by Zak and Fox, anchors this room. We mixed the graphic stripe of the bed fabric with the fringed bedcover, a handwoven textile we sourced from Pat McGann. We love the mix of stripes between the bed upholstery and the bed covering, and continue to bring in more subtle patterns with the vintage rug.
What is this room used for? What inspired your design?
This room is the primary bedroom in a 1928 Spanish style home. The interior architectural details are rich and layered throughout the home, so we wanted to carry that conversation into the interiors we designed for our creative clients’ bedroom. We’ve always loved the feeling of classic homes from another time, and we wanted this room to take on that feeling. We love the mix of contemporary and vintage furnishings, and fell in love with these vintage style sconces that are beautifully detailed and have a wonderful patina. The oversized curved mirror bounces light around in the room, pulling in the curves of the settee that we upholstered in a green velvet.
What’s the vibe of this space?
Layered, timeless, tailored, and oozing comfort and calm.
