Studio Mellone
Andre Mellone's work blends architectural precision with a focus on form, materiality, and mood—an aesthetic often called masculine, yet genre-defying, favoring simplicity and presence over ornament and prettiness.
About
After formative roles at iconic firms such as Robert A.M. Stern, Mark Hampton, Greg Jordan, Ferguson & Shamamian, and Sawyer/Berson, Mellone launched Studio Mellone in 2012. Since then he has quietly become a trusted force behind some of the most refined private residences, commercial spaces, and cultural interiors in the U.S. and abroad. His work is characterized by an architectural point of view, precise detailing, and a deep appreciation for form, materiality, and mood. His aesthetic is often described as masculine, but it transcends genre—favoring simplicity over ornament, and presence over prettiness.
Studio Mellone, known for its bespoke residential projects across major U.S. cities and internationally in Brazil, England, Portugal, and Switzerland, also boasts a strong commercial portfolio with luxury clients such as Thom Browne, The Row, and Carolina Herrera—and notably helmed the renovation and decoration of the lobbies at 50 and 45 Rockefeller Plaza in New York’s iconic Rockefeller Center.
Widely respected within the industry yet intentionally understated, Mellone has earned accolades from Architectural Digest’s AD100, ELLE Decor’s A-List, Est Living’s The Esteemed 10, and Wallpaper* Magazine’s Top 300 and 400.
