Fran Keenan’s ability to create unique homes that reflect the personalities and interests of her clients is the result of years spent cultivating her talents and influences from a wide variety of experiences. Fran’s career began in fashion. Starting with a short stint in London, she spent several years in New York City designing menswear for Ralph Lauren in the late 1990s. Fran then took her skills to the celebrated New York firm of Diamond Baratta Design. Utilizing her experience in textiles from the fashion industry, she learned the intricate and detailed craft of custom design and how to embrace compelling colors and apply layered patterns in a home. In the early 2000s, Fran dipped her toes in the editorial world and became the founding Decorating Editor of the popular Cottage Living magazine, a Time, Inc. publication based in Birmingham, Alabama. In 2006, Fran decided to open her own design studio.

Fran Keenan Design has been featured in Veranda, House Beautiful, Garden & Gun, Southern Living and more. Whether it is a Spanish Colonial in Southern California, a modern mountain home in Utah, a stately residence in Connecticut, a 19th century Georgian in Vermont or an English Tudor closer to home, Fran and her team are known for bringing a lifestyle driven aesthetic to their projects and for always having a lot of fun while doing it.
